Terms of Use
Last Updated: 01/11/2026
These Terms govern access to and use of the pdfedia.com website, the pdfedia Windows application, and related services (together, the "Services"), provided by Desoline Inc. ("Desoline," "we," "us," or "our"). Your download, installation, and use of the pdfedia software is also governed by the End User License Agreement ("EULA"); if these Terms and the EULA conflict about the software, the EULA prevails. By accessing or using pdfedia, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the Services.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) and legally capable of entering into an agreement to use the Services. If you use pdfedia on behalf of a company or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. Use of pdfedia
You may use pdfedia only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. Prohibited activities include misuse of the Services, attempting unauthorized access, interfering with system operation, distributing malware, circumventing security measures, automated abuse, and fraudulent use — including using pdfedia with documents you have no right to use or for unlawful, fraudulent, or infringing purposes.
3. Your Content and Documents
You retain all rights, title, and interest in the documents, images, and other content you open or use with pdfedia ("Your Content"). We claim no ownership over Your Content.
You are solely responsible for Your Content and for ensuring you have the right to open, use, store, and share it. We do not review Your Content; how the application handles it is described in our Privacy Policy.
4. Software and Downloads
Desoline grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to download and use the pdfedia Windows application on devices you own or control, for its intended purpose and subject to these Terms and the EULA.
Redistribution, resale, sublicensing, modification, reverse engineering, and commercial exploitation of pdfedia software are prohibited unless expressly authorized by us or permitted by applicable law.
5. Distribution
The pdfedia Windows application is distributed as a direct download from pdfedia.com. The installer file is served securely from downloads.pdfedia.com, hosted on Cloudflare R2, on behalf of pdfedia.com. pdfedia is not distributed through the Microsoft Store, and copies of pdfedia are not obtained through the Microsoft Store.
Download pdfedia only from pdfedia.com. Desoline is not responsible for copies obtained from any other source, which may be modified or unsafe.
Desoline is solely responsible for pdfedia and for providing support for it.
6. Intellectual Property
pdfedia and its associated website, software, designs, graphics, logos, trademarks, text, and other proprietary materials (excluding Your Content) are owned by Desoline Inc. or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership of any pdfedia intellectual property to you.
7. Third-Party Services
pdfedia may integrate with or link to third-party products and services, such as GitHub for application updates and Massive for optional bandwidth sharing. Third-party services operate under their own separate terms, and we are not responsible for their availability, operation, security, or content.
The pdfedia Windows installer offers Massive (joinmassive.com), an optional, separately provided service that helps keep pdfedia free. Massive is offered on its own installer page with Accept and Decline buttons and is set up only if you select Accept. If you select Decline, Massive isn't set up and pdfedia works exactly the same.
If you accept, Massive uses some of your PC's unused processing power, storage, and internet bandwidth for tasks run for Massive's business customers, including routing publicly available web traffic through your internet connection, so the websites involved see your IP address. This may increase electricity use or reduce battery life and network performance. Massive runs in the background while pdfedia is running: closing pdfedia's window keeps pdfedia running in the Windows system tray, and the installer option "Start PDFedia when you sign in (runs in the tray)" is ticked by default, so pdfedia and Massive start when you sign in to Windows unless you untick it. Massive does not show its own tray icon; you control it from pdfedia. You can switch it off at any time in pdfedia under Settings > Bandwidth sharing ("Share spare bandwidth"), and choosing Exit from the pdfedia tray icon stops it. You can uninstall Massive on its own in Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps, and uninstalling pdfedia removes Massive too.
Massive is provided by Massive, not by Desoline, under Massive's own terms and privacy policy, and Massive acts as an independent controller of the traffic it routes and the information it processes. Desoline does not choose or receive the content of that traffic. Learn more: How Massive works · Massive terms · Massive privacy. If you accept Massive, your use of it is governed by Massive's terms. See also the Massive section of our Privacy Policy and of the EULA.
8. Service and Software Updates
Features of pdfedia may be updated, modified, added, removed, suspended, or discontinued at any time, and we may release software updates, bug fixes, security updates, and new versions.
Automatic updates are on by default and can be turned off in the application; how they work is described in the EULA and the Privacy Policy.
9. Suspension and Termination
Access to pdfedia may be restricted or terminated for violations of these Terms, suspected fraud or abuse, security threats, legal requirements, or conduct that may harm pdfedia, its infrastructure, or other users. You may stop using pdfedia at any time by uninstalling it.
10. Disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, pdfedia is provided "as is" and "as available," without guarantees regarding uptime, device compatibility, error-free operation, defect correction, or that the display of every document will be perfectly accurate in every case. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Desoline disclaims liability for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or relating to your use of the Services, including loss of data or documents. Any limitations in these Terms apply only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
12. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Desoline from claims, damages, losses, and reasonable expenses resulting from Your Content, your unlawful use of the Services, or your material violation of these Terms.
13. Changes to These Terms
These Terms may be modified periodically, with an updated publication and a revised "Last Updated" date on the website. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before material changes take effect.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections that may apply in your country of residence. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Tel Aviv-Yaffo, Israel, except where applicable consumer law provides otherwise; if you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms deprives you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence or your right to bring proceedings there.
